How we operate
The London Gypsy and Traveller Unit operates as a regional strategic organisation and as a local community development organisation. We find this combination essential for our understanding of the community and the trust they give us; and for our ability to effectively support Gypsies and Travellers in influencing the decisions made about their lives. We have the organisational competency and experience with the political and planning systems, ensuring that the Travellers we work with get heard in the right places. We use this detailed local and regional experience to contribute to national consultation and debate, and have done so over the past 20 years.
